Coating Technician - 1st shift - Learn a New Trade

$16 - $18 to start
Hours 7 am to 3: 30 with 30 min lunch. Occasional OT and Sat may be requested.
This is an excellent opportunity to take your skills and turn them into a career. We are looking for someone we can train who will be a fantastic employee for our Coatings Division. This is a fabrication company in South Denver.
Day to day of job:
70% of time spent doing prep. On the machine shop side you remove material that will be taken up by coating, prep on coat side in the masking areas, and sandblasting, and mounting the part in proper piece of equipment, then putting proper material into spray equipment, and setting up spray equipment with proper coating material based on print.
30% of time spent actually spraying. This is an operation where combustion takes place, uses fuel and oxygen to melt coating material as it gets applied with the gun. It s hot, and sparks. Most parts are round, they start by masking parts that don t need to be coated, then sand blast part in area that needs to be coated, then coating is applied. You are wearing a suit and helmet for safety measures.
Physical requirements: Spray equipment can be put on a manipulator or driver but most times gun is hand held at proper distance from body and part. At times you could be standing there holding sprayer for 30 min, gun 25 to 30 lbs. Some are lighter.
- Ability to read Blueprints
- Math; must be ok with decimal mathematics
- Measuring instrumentation; micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Willing to take a background and drug test
- Must be okay being on your feet for 10 hours a day on a cement floor
- Must be okay lifting over 50+lbs a day
Compensation: $16 to $18/hr
Benefits: Once Hired On: Heath United Health, not 100% covered but about 80%, 401k match, 9 paid holidays, 1 week sick time first year, after 1st year get one week sick plus one week PTO.
