Hours: 7: 00  AM to 3: 30  PM Monday - Friday

Department: Maintenance


To safely and effectively maintain and repair all types of electrical circuitry and equipment, so as to maintain optimum production capabilities on a 24 hour-a-day basis, seven day a week basis.

To provide assistance in analyzing, identifying and correcting electrical process and mechanical problems.

To install new and updated equipment, to include but not necessarily limited to, conduit and wiring electrical, electronic and instrumentation devices.

To provide assistance in analyzing, identifying and correcting any condition-based maintenance issues which include, but are not limited to, vibration control, thermo graphical corrections, motor condition control, etc.


Take personal responsibility to translate safety policies, goals and standards from paper into action. Follow prescribed safety policies, procedures and standards in completion of assigned tasks. Complete all required inspections, audits, work orders and reports. Communicate and document hazards and substandard conditions and/or acts. Immediately correct substandard conditions and acts to the best of your ability. Report all near misses to your team leader and assist as requested in near miss and incident investigations.

Perform preventive maintenance and/or diagnostic inspections as required to effectively analyze, isolate and repair all electrical or electro-mechanical problems and failures.

Serve as a resource for other departments to advise them of electrical capabilities or limitations.

Specify, design, and/or install electrical circuits and equipment necessary to enhance overall system productivity.

Read and analyze electrical/electronic schematics to the extent necessary to quickly and accurately isolate electrical failures in wiring and devices.

Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.


Must meet or exceed one of the following minimum requirements:

4 years experience in cement plant electrical work, or 5 years equivalent industrial experience;

2 year associates degree in electrical or electronics field, along with 2 years industrial experience, or equivalent training course completion.

Must be capable and willing to respond to emergency problems on a 24 hour a day as needed basis.

Must have a clear understanding of the National Electrical Code and be able to apply its principles to install and maintain a safe and effective electrical system.

Must be capable of all types of industrial electrical construction, to include layout, installation and start up.

Must have the ability to read and understand electrical manuals, drawings and blueprints.

Must maintain open communications with fellow employees and other departments to insure a safe and timely job completion.

Must be capable of monitoring and/or analyzing basic condition-based maintenance issues including, but not limited to, vibration, thermo graphic and motor condition monitoring programs.

Must be capable of complete and precise motor and equipment alignment, utilizing any specialized tools or instruments necessary.

Must have a sound working knowledge of all types of electrical motors and controllers, to include AC induction, DC, synchronous, and inverter.

Must be fluent in the use and capable of maintaining the integrity of the Rosemount and PLC on-line data and ladder diagram systems. These will be used to analyze and isolate electrical and system problems as necessary.

Must be capable of performing exacting calibration techniques on electronic and pneumatic instrumentation. These will include, but not be limited to, controllers, recorders, converters, indicators, analyzers, weigh scales, flow meters, pneumatic/electric control drives, pneumatic/electric valve positioners, etc.

Must be capable of inspecting, repairing or replacing primary elements of control systems, such as thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, pressure taps, orifice plates, load cells, transducers such as pressure or watts, pyrometers, etc.

Must have the basic welding and plumbing expertise necessary to do a safe and workman like job of mounting conduit, electrical devices and related equipment.

Must be willing to work within the maintenance organization as instructed by management. This will include, but not be limited to, supporting other electricians, mechanics and oilier as required to properly maintain electro-mechanical equipment and installations.

Must be capable of using and maintaining electrical drawings and documentation in a neat, accurate and orderly filing system. This is to include drafting when necessary to maintain drawing accuracy.

Must have a sound working knowledge of the cement manufacturing process and related electrical and mechanical equipment. This must include a clear understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process priorities.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize computers as necessary in order to perform job duties; i.E.: Mapcon, Lotus, Entek, etc.


Full compliance with plant, state and federal safety regulations and general work rules. Use of proper lock-out procedure and personal protective equipment.
