Overview:
We’re looking for a skilled technician with hands-on experience in operating press brake equipment for stainless steel and metal component fabrication. This role involves detailed setup, operation, and upkeep of forming machines to meet tight production specifications in a high-precision environment.
Primary Duties:
Configure and run manual or CNC press brake machinery to form metal sheets, focusing on stainless and carbon steel materials.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and job specs to determine required tooling, bends, and machine settings.
Conduct precision measurements with tools like calipers, gauges, and angle finders to verify conformance to detailed tolerances.
Adjust machine programming as needed and resolve basic operational or material-related issues.
Inspect finished components regularly to maintain consistent quality standards.
Record production data and inspection results accurately and promptly.
Carry out routine equipment checks and coordinate with maintenance if repairs are needed.
Follow all company safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
A minimum of five years operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing setting involving stainless steel.
Proficiency in blueprint and schematic reading is essential.
Deep understanding of metal fabrication principles, especially with stainless materials.
Comfortable working within tight tolerances and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working while standing for extended shifts.
High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade certification preferred.
Experience with layout, forming, and shaping of sheet metal.
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and minimal need for direct oversight.
Meticulous attention to quality and detail.
