Manufacturing Project Manager / Planning SpecialistThis position will provide excellent service to our customers throughout the ordering and manufacturing process of custom products. Focusing on purchasing, planning and customer service. Coordinating the work flow and material management between departments will ensure the shop can produce what the client is requesting on time. TYPE: Direct Hire, Full Time EmployeeSHIFT: M-TH days, F ½ dayLOCATION: Berthoud, COPAY: 65-75K per yearDAY TO DAY:
- Process all purchase orders for the client project.
- Coordinate and process Return Materials Report with Quality Assurance.
- Coordinate special customer shipping requests for material.
- Monitor price changes and provide reporting.
- Monitor Engineering Change Order process as necessary for purchased items.
- Order supplies and materials per departmental request.
- Monitor MRP Exception Report and Purchase Order Status Report and communicate with internal departments to determine order status and on-time delivery.
- Manage Vendor/Item Cross Reference to update pricing.
- Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors/departments. Interface with Supervisors on a daily basis.
- Having a presence on the manufacturing floor is imperative to this position.
- Provide purchasing reports.
- Run utilities in ERP system to keep the schedule as accurate as possible.
- Create and Adjust jobs to cover customer order and forecast requirements.
- Run order action report to ensure all jobs that are needed have been created.
- Run Exception report to identify and changes needed to jobs (pulling, push out, cancellation, etc.)
- Ensure materials are available before scheduling jobs in the department.
- Suggest and implement improvements to departmental operations.
- Manage and update schedule boards as close to real time as possible. Provide production planner with project schedule.
- Provide customer service and follow-up throughout the life cycle of the customer.
- Process purchase orders, request for quote, open order reports, and shipping schedule.
- Process purchase order and customer forecast data entry into Syteline.
- Monitor shipping schedule and ensure timely delivery or communicate adjustment to schedule with customer.
- Monitor Engineering Change Order process as necessary.
- Communicate with internal departments and use Syteline MRP system to determine order status.
- Coordinate special customer shipping requests.
- Promptly respond to customer inquiries and requests as well as internal communications.
- Upon assignment, follow introduction of new parts into our manufacturing system to ensure smooth incorporation, including documentation.
- Assist in resolving production issues and ERP integrated with project.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in supply chain management. purchasing and inventory control experience preferred.
- Ability to be tactful and clear in both verbal and written communication required.
- Experience in basic computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; database experience desired.
- Ability to handle difficult and/or controversial situations and negotiations required.
- ISO 9001 knowledge preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred and Syteline ERP.
- Able to function in the usual office and production environment involves frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.
- Postures include sedentary positions, walking, standing, and lifting.
- Occasionally lifts or carries up to 25 pounds, and balances while working in a production environment.
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination.
- Verbal and auditory capacity, with or without assistance, enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Visual capacity could include one or more of the following depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision enabling operation of machinery.
- Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others.
- Occasional travel by automobile, valid driver’s license needed.
