Job Description
Utilities and Wastewater Technician(M-Th 6a-4:30p)The Utilities and Wastewater Technician is responsible for maintenance, repair, and installation of utility, mechanical, wastewater, boiler and electrical systems for our cutting edge manufacturing facility. Apply ASAP! Shift: 6am-4:30pm Monday-ThursdayLocation: Thornton, COPay: $39.50-$46.50/HR Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, generous PTO, parental leave, wellness expenses, and more! Day to Day: Inspects and ensures proper operation of equipment; reads meters, gauges, and instruments; reports and records any failures or operating difficulties.
- Assist with tasks beyond the boiler room, such as performing preventative and predictive maintenance and conducting equipment repairs or rebuilds.
- Ensure uninterrupted steam boiler operations and support systems like air compressors, HVAC units, cooling towers, water pumps, and facility infrastructure.
- Conduct water quality testing for boilers and in-feed water, and troubleshoot utility, mechanical, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain service and repair logs to enhance operational efficiency and keep communication open with customers or external parties.
- Adhere to lifting requirements of 50-100lbs when necessary.
- Oversee the operation of wastewater treatment equipment (pumps, filters, tanks, and aeration systems), regularly inspect systems, and carry out necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Collect and evaluate water samples, ensuring accurate documentation of operations, maintenance, and water quality.
- Respond to alarms and resolve issues promptly, following safety protocols and using appropriate PPE.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of wastewater treatment standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on industry standards.
- Assist with other environmental projects as required.
- Certification in wastewater treatment for Colorado
- Industrial Wastewater Treatment D (minimum)
- 1-2+ years' experience with high pressure boilers or industrial maintenance in a manufacturing facility, military, or related environment
- Willing to obtain Denver Class A Boilers License or Denver Stationary Engineer License
- Hands-on experience with HVAC, air compressors, vacuum pumps, fire suppression systems, pumps, and/or cooling towers
- Must be able to work on-call as needed.
- Nice to have experience in the CPG or food manufacturing industry.
- Nice to have Mechanical engineering experience or familiarity with mechanical engineering principles
